Design/Build
A question we're often asked is "what is Design/Build?" The simple answer is that Design/Build Contracting is a building process where a General Contractor oversees every aspect of a construction project. This is a relatively recent strategy, and has been a major boon to the construction industry. The "old" way of building a project entailed several disconnected steps, including: finding an architect to draw your blueprints drawn, then at a later date, beginning the daunting task of finding a reliable General Contractor to build your project according to your already-drawn set of blueprints.
This outmoded building model left room for gaps by keeping the General Contractor out of the loop until it was time to build. Instead, when building with a Design/Build Contractor, you make only one phone call&to the General Contractor. That General Contractor, or "Builder," will sit down with you and help you design your project from the group up, draw the blueprints, and then build your project. There are many benefits to this approach. The biggest benefit is the cost savings through quality control. When you take an existing set of plans to a builder, small nuances, mistakes or assumptions can go unnoticed on the drawing board, yet cause expensive errors during construction. However, if your builder is involved in the process from day one, he is aware of every minute detail of the project. Constructing a home or building is an extremely involved and detailed process.
At Stauffer & Sons Construction, our Design/Build process offers several advantages:
- Our design team will sit down with you and discuss your dreams and ideas for your project until we completely grasp the vision for your project.
- We have multiple computer design programs, including AutoCADĀ®, which allows us to create realistic 3D Computer Renderings of your project before it's even built.
- When we design a project from the very beginning, there are no "surprises" that will nickel and dime you to death. Every 2x4 is accounted for before construction begins.
- The cost savings is considerable. Our stamped plans are approved by licensed engineers, as local regulations and building codes require. This eliminates the need to hire an Architect.
- We design your project to fit your budget. Your home is built by the very same people who draw it.
