LEED for Homes Green Building
What is a Green home, exactly?
Compared to a conventional home, a green home uses less energy, water and natural resources; creates less waste; is intelligently located and built with as little impact on the land it sits on as possible; and promotes better health for the people living inside.
Stauffer & Sons Construction will be hosting a FREE seminar on "How To Build and Budget A Green Home" on Wednesday, October 21st, at 7:00pm in Colorado Springs. Please RSVP for this free, no-obligation class by
Contacting Us. Simply use our web form, and type
"Green Building Seminar" in the Subject line. We'll get in touch with you to send you an information packet and directions. Free Coffee and Pastries will be served. We hope to see you there!
In the meantime, feel free to do some research on your own! We have teamed with the
US Green Building Council, who we feel is the leader in Green Building technologies and education. As a member of the USGBC, we are participating in the
LEED™ for Homes Green Building program. LEED™ homes are built with an emphasis on energy efficiency, and an intense focus on the home's impact on the environment.
The US Green Building Council rates their green homes with four ratings. In order of efficiency, they are:
- LEED™ Platinum
- LEED™ Gold
- LEED™ Silver
- LEED™ Certified
Stauffer & Sons Construction is currently building the very first LEED™ Platinum home in all of Southern Colorado. We are excited to be part of the greater movement of sustainable building, and we have a wonderful team! We'll be updating everyone on the progress on our
"Ask The Homebuilder" Blog.
